Inferential Penance

This ongoing series of drawings is part of an installation piece in which a wooden "donation" box is affixed to a wall and solicits anonymous donations of personal secrets from exhibition goers. Once submitted, the secrets are retrieved and additional drawings are created based upon those secrets. Undeniably, the secret goes through a transformation from note to drawing, but is also influenced by Pasquarelli's own personal experiences and subconscious mind, thus creating a new event that might not even be recognizable to the donor. With this installation, Pasquarelli invites the public to participate in an exploration of the concept of confession and absolution.
